Jujutsu Kaisen doesn't have a simple power system.
A character with an incredibly powerful Cursed Technique can still lose to someone with better strategy, while a seemingly weaker ability can become terrifying in the hands of a genius. Then there are the absolute monsters.
Sukuna and Gojo completely redefine what a sorcerer can do, while characters like Yuta, Kenjaku, Yuki, and Kashimo possess enough power to challenge the very best.
For this ranking, we're considering the strongest versions of the characters shown in the main manga, taking into account cursed techniques, Domain Expansion, Reverse Cursed Technique, physical ability, battle experience, and overall combat potential.
Major spoilers ahead.
10. Suguru Geto
Geto was one of the strongest sorcerers of his generation and one of only four Special Grade sorcerers recognized by Jujutsu society. His Cursed Spirit Manipulation technique allows him to absorb and command cursed spirits, giving him an enormous and unpredictable arsenal.
The more spirits he collects, the more options he has in battle. Geto could also combine spirits into powerful attacks through Maximum: Uzumaki.
His defeat against Yuta doesn't diminish his status. Even without reaching the heights of the strongest modern sorcerers, Geto remained an incredibly dangerous opponent.
9. Kinji Hakari
Hakari is one of the most unconventional powerful sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen. His Domain Expansion, Idle Death Gamble, revolves around a complicated pachinko-style system that can grant him an enormous amount of cursed energy and automatic Reverse Cursed Technique during Jackpot.
When Jackpot activates, Hakari becomes extraordinarily difficult to kill.
His battle against Kashimo proves that he can survive against opponents operating at an elite level. Hakari's greatest strength isn't simply his offensive power, it's his ridiculous ability to keep coming back for more.
8. Yuji Itadori
Yuji's growth is one of the most impressive in the entire series.
Starting with almost no formal jujutsu training, he eventually develops incredible physical strength, Reverse Cursed Technique, Black Flash mastery, and abilities capable of directly affecting the soul.
His connection to Sukuna also gives him unique advantages that other sorcerers simply don't possess. By the final stages of the story, Yuji becomes a completely different fighter from the boy we met at the beginning.
His endurance, determination, and late-series abilities make him one of the strongest modern sorcerers.
7. Yorozu
Yorozu was an exceptionally powerful sorcerer from the Heian era whose obsession with Sukuna made her one of the most dangerous reincarnated fighters.
Her Construction technique allows her to create objects from cursed energy, while her mastery of the technique lets her produce the devastating Perfect Sphere. Her Domain Expansion makes that ability even more dangerous.
Yorozu also possesses Bug Armor, dramatically improving her physical combat capabilities.
Her battle against Sukuna demonstrates that she belongs comfortably among the strongest sorcerers in Jujutsu Kaisen, even though she ultimately couldn't overcome the King of Curses.
6. Hajime Kashimo
Kashimo was one of the strongest sorcerers of his era and spent his lifetime searching for someone capable of giving him a truly satisfying battle.
Even without using his full Cursed Technique, his lightning-based cursed energy made him an extremely dangerous close-range fighter. His Mythical Beast Amber technique pushes his physical abilities even further, allowing him to transform his body into an electrically charged weapon.
His battle against Sukuna shows that Kashimo belongs among the absolute strongest fighters in the series, even if he ultimately falls short of the top tier.
5. Yuki Tsukumo
Yuki is one of only four officially recognized Special Grade sorcerers and one of the most physically devastating fighters in the series.
Her Cursed Technique, Star Rage, allows her to add virtual mass to herself and Garuda, turning even her punches into catastrophic attacks.
Her physical strength is extraordinary, while her knowledge of jujutsu makes her far more than a simple powerhouse. Yuki's battle against Kenjaku demonstrates just how dangerous she can be.
Her final technique also reveals a level of destructive potential that very few characters in the series can match.
4. Kenjaku
Kenjaku's greatest weapon isn't simply his cursed energy rather it's his knowledge.
Having lived for centuries by transferring his brain between bodies, he has accumulated an enormous understanding of jujutsu. His ability to use multiple Cursed Techniques, combined with his mastery of barriers and Domain Expansion, makes him incredibly difficult to predict.
He was able to battle Yuki Tsukumo while remaining several steps ahead strategically.
Kenjaku may not have Sukuna's raw destructive power, but his experience, planning, intelligence, and mastery of jujutsu make him one of history's most dangerous sorcerers.
3. Yuta Okkotsu
Yuta went from an inexperienced student to one of the most powerful modern sorcerers in just a few years.
His enormous cursed energy reserves, Reverse Cursed Technique, Copy ability, and connection with Rika give him an absurdly versatile arsenal.
Yuta can adapt to different opponents by using copied techniques rather than relying on a single fighting style. His ability to fight alongside Rika while maintaining powerful techniques makes him one of the most complete sorcerers alive.
By the end of the story, Yuta firmly establishes himself among the absolute elite.
2. Satoru Gojo
Gojo is the strongest modern-era sorcerer and arguably the most naturally gifted character in the series.
His Limitless technique and Six Eyes give him extraordinary control over cursed energy, while Infinity makes ordinary attacks practically useless.
His Hollow Purple can cause devastating destruction, and Unlimited Void overwhelms opponents with an unimaginable amount of information.
Gojo's combination of speed, intelligence, Reverse Cursed Technique, and overwhelming abilities makes him almost impossible to defeat.
Only someone operating at Sukuna's level could truly push Gojo to his limits.
1. Ryomen Sukuna
Known as the King of Curses, Sukuna stands at the very top of the Jujutsu Kaisen power scale.
His enormous cursed energy reserves, terrifying Shrine technique, Reverse Cursed Technique, and Malevolent Shrine make him almost impossible to challenge.
But Sukuna's greatest advantage may be his understanding of jujutsu itself. His ability to analyze, adapt, and develop solutions against techniques that would overwhelm most sorcerers is terrifying.
His battle against Gojo demonstrates the ridiculous level of his abilities.
Even among the strongest sorcerers in history, Sukuna exists in his own category.
Honorable Mentions
Several incredibly powerful sorcerers narrowly missed the top ten. Hiromi Higuruma deserves special recognition for developing extraordinary jujutsu talent in an extremely short time, while Mei Mei and Todo remain highly capable Grade 1 sorcerers.
Naobito Zenin was also one of the fastest sorcerers of his generation. Choso, despite technically being a Death Painting Womb, deserves a mention for his mastery of Blood Manipulation and his growth throughout the series.
Conclusion
Jujutsu Kaisen makes ranking its strongest sorcerers incredibly difficult. Gojo and Sukuna clearly sit at the top, while Yuta, Kenjaku, Yuki, and the others bring completely different strengths to the battlefield.
And of course, we can't forget Toji Fushiguro, the fan-favorite "Sorcerer Killer" who had zero cursed energy but still managed to take down some of the strongest sorcerers alive. He may not qualify for this list, but leaving him out entirely would be criminal.
So, who would you put in your top ten?
